Sara Ramella is Professor of Radiation Oncology at Campus Bio-Medico University, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico, Rome, Italy. She is Members of the Scientific Board of the PhD Course on Artificial Intelligence – Area Health & Life Sciences at Campus Bio-Medico University. He trained at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS of Rome. Her main interest lies in lung cancer treatment with regard to combination of radiation and chemotherapy, target agents and immunotherapy. In the era of personalized medicine, her research has also focused on exploiting radiomics data in Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). The academic age is 17 years, publications have collected 2240 citations, h-index is equal to 21 (Scopus, updated July 2022). She as an international teaching experience collaborating with European Society of Radiation Oncology for Lung Cancer Teaching Courses and she was ESTRO official delegate for some intersociety projects. She is actually the coordinator of the Lung Cancer subgroup ESTRO Guidelines and was track chair for WCLC 2022. She actually is Associate Editor of Journal of Thoracic Oncology and collaborated in the drafting of the IASLC Textbooks.
With regard to practical research applications characterized by a large degree of international collaborations. Her latest research is directed to develop a Radiomics-based Decision Support System (RDSSs) to predict outcomes during chemoradiation. Her efforts have been recognized by the University Strategic Project 2019 Award for the project “A Collaborative Multi-Sources RadioPathomics Approach for Personalized Oncology in NSCLC”.
